Murdock

The Murdock Cabernet Sauvignon is regularly acknowledged as one of the best examples of this variety from both Coonawarra and Australia.  The Murdock family, have been associated with the Coonawarra since the early 1950’s. The Murdock family vineyard is situated on the terra rossa strip of soil and was originally planted in 1973. The vineyard is situated adjacent to Leconfield, Bowen Estate & Balnaves of Coonawarra.   Murdock is a small, family operated business which commenced making ultra premium wines in 1998. Prior to this the family business supplied fruit of exceptional standard to other, well established wine brands within Coonawarra. Varieties planted are Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Riesling and Chardonnay, which are dry grown with yields naturally restricted to around 5 Tonnes/Ha or less.  The family owned company has always meticulously managed the fruit yields on the vineyard with the sole aim of producing the finest grapes possible. This has resulted in exceptional quality berries of great intensity of flavour and character.
